I've configured a gig adapter to 4 AIX boxes but seem to be having probs with the link. Switch and routes checkout but entstat reveals link:down even though ifconfig reveals an 'up' status. Any ideas ??

All HP boxes seem to be working fine.

Thanks for the reponse, the card is pinging fine but entstat -d still reveals link:down ? cables are fine.

entstat -drt ent0

solution is to set media=autoselect and check what mode it choses

should be port: ~up driver: ~up media: ~autoselect ~maximum

We are still trying to get AIX gigabit to a level of stability such that we can actually use it. We have some issues open with IBM about it.

You are not the only :) Patch.1 Patch.2 Patch.3 Config.1 Config.2 Config.3 etc

We have gigabit ethernet on AIX for about two years now, and works most of the time:
The last problem was : sometimes a connection loss which is now resolved by either upgrade to ML10 or connector change on the switch (did both things simultaniously)
