Gifs Not Animating... But still displaying first image/frame

hi

im runnin xp service pack 1 and ie 6

lately gifs have not bein animating but r showing

i have read a forum about the red x appearin but none of the solutions have worked

although i have notice my browser usin westen (iso) and unicode, if i select western (windows) it automatically goes back to western (iso)

please help

From the IE menu ...

Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced tab.
Go down to the Multimedia section, and make sure that the option to Play Animations in Web Pages is checked.

If it's already checked, I'm afraid I don't know what the problem is

it is checked!

the gif's work in the thier folders using filmstip option to view them but they dnt work wen i double click em and view em in IE

Sorted it!!!!!!!!!!

i ran lovasoft ad-ware SE personal - only did it about 2 weeks ago

but did it just now and found over 250 objects

and 2 files that contain viruses!

restarted and hey presto! my gifs r workin again!

Hmm. 250 dodgy objects in 2 weeks ????

Run don't walk to

and get their AVG anti-virus package. And

http://www.zonelabs.com

for their firewall.
