Gibe / Swen Virus - Hows everyone doing?

Hey People,

Just wondering what the news is on the Swen / Gibe virus that is going about. A small client of mine with 5 users has had a email message from MessageLabs informing them that they caught a email with it in 108 times. Thats from Friday morning till midday Monday - Just 5 users!

Wondering how everyone else is doing?

Mcafee rates it now as a Medium risk, and I think it will be downscaled to low risk soon.
The virus looks clever enough to fool a lot of home users bu for some odd reason I haven't seen this virus expanding as quickly as the virusses that we have seen over the last months....

Thats strange. Its now Tuesday and my customer has informed me of 183 emails from MessageLabs informing them that they have stoped the virus.

I have seen the mail that comes with the virus. There were only a couple of points that I noted that made me realise that its not right:

1. Obvious one is that MS do not send patches via email
2. Since when to MS call themselves MS?
3. Disclaimer was wrong

I doubt that many home users would of picked this up.

Hi there - yes we are having fun and games with this - 110 incidents since last Friday.

Trend AV deleting the virus just fine though.

However, the boss is convinced our mail server is being used as a relay............sigh.
