I can map a drive to a windows xp laptop/client

but not a windows 2003 server share.

Defo are right credentials.. I can map when in windows.

I get Access Denied 5.

Anyone know of any issues with windows 2003 server shares.

I thought it might be NTFS partition but the XP clients are NTFS

thanks

I have had the same problem ---- I remember reading some place that the network logon that the client ghost uses --- a DOS based client cannot properly authenticate to Windows 2003 server.

we've since solved this by using hte corporate version of ghost and using the broadcast image to the machines so that no drive mappings are involved.

The group security policies under 2003 server don't allow for a DOS Based Client to authenticate onto the server, as a short term fix we dropped the group security policy to allow this. We have now implemented a Linux box to hold the Ghost Images and re-established the security policies on the server

Got it to work.

Disabled Microsoft Network Digital sign (ALWAYS) policy of domain controller.

within the security options of that domain controller.

as a member server 2k3 is ok, but when it is promted to a dc then it is clamped down big time.

thanks for the help guys.
