Hi

I have bought an external hd and symantec ghost v. 2003.
I have made a couple of backups without any errors. The
problems came when I was going to make a boot disk so I
could transfer filer from my external hd in dos.
Maybe I can download some boot disks somewhere online?

By the way I have windows xp home ed.
How can I make a working boot disk? (Right now it is
actually TWO disks because it could not be on one)

Just seen second post - when you say boot disk, what do you mean?

These 2 boot disks, were they made with the Ghost program? If so, they ARE what you use to boot from DOS. Disk 1 is the DOS boot disk, and Disk 2 is the Ghost program to restore the image back to your hard drive.

The point of symantec ghost is that you can create a
boot disk that boots into the ghost aplication that then
restores the premade images. That is why I need to
transfer / restore my images on my external hd.

So where can I download a boot disk(or two disks)
with support for pcdos and usb 2.0 (for my external
hd)?

It shurely must be possible to make a boot disk with
ghost right ? But How?

Another thing the option screen I get where I Can choose
what to put on my boot disk(s) does NOT give me the
ability to choose between usb 1 or 2 and so on.....
So It must be in the making of the boot disks that something
goes wrong.

OK now I have chosen the usb 2.0 option to the right
instead of the usb option peer to peer. Now the
usb drive is accessesable. But I still have errors
though

aspi8dos.sys failed to initialize

aspi2dos.sys failed to initialize

aspi4dos.sys failed to initialize

What are thouse? Do they matter to the further process?

iceb,

The drivers with the errors are for Adaptec SCSI controllers. There were included when you created the boot disk with the check box "Include Adaptec ASPI drivers"

They are inconsequential to this scenario.
