Hello,

Though I use Redhat's kickstart, has anyone tried using Norton\Symantec Ghost to quickly clone Redhat LINUX systems of identicle configurations?

Is this possible?

If yes are there any major drawbacks?

Thanks,

Yes, Ghost can image some Linux systems depending on the version. Check out Symantec's Knowledge base web page and do a search on Ghost and Linux. A compatibility chart is listed. The one main problem I know of, Ghost has trouble imaging a Linux Grub boot partition (Ext2/Ext3 format problems)!! It corrupts the partition. You can run the e2fsck and tune2fs commands after a Ghost to correct the issue, but it is a pain in the butt!! Try using Acronis - True Image!! It worked great for me. I only had some minor problems to deal with and it has a great interface.!!
