Getting the most recent date.

Here is what I would like to do.
If Joe has 5 scores with 5 different unknown dates, I want to know how to tell access to give me the most recent date and score associated with it. I have tried numerous things and I can not figure this out.

Create a new Query, hit the Totals button (the funny looking "E" on the toolbar)

Change the GroupBy of the Date field to Max and the Score GroupBy to First.

I think he will need to Group by the field that identifies the person .. then select Max for the date field in the Totals query.
