Can any one give me a solution for getting rid of the reply "your call has been answered by avaya ip office" that refers to the mailbox after we call an extension and no one answers in IP office 500 V2..instead is it possible to insert some other customized dialogs.. any help will be highly appreciated..

Record and activate a Personal Greeting - that will take the place of the system default greeting that you're currently hearing.

This is vmpro and I was thinking the same thing

A lot of people don't record personal greetings and that message is supremely unprofessional

delete or rerecord the system prompt. To find out which it is, use debuf view and watch which file it plays.

Done this for a few people.

FAQ for VMPRO WAV prompts here:

At least it can tell you what file it is not.

The only code listed in above guide similar to your required is as below:

svm_07.wav: "There is no one available to take your call at the moment so please leave a message after the tone".

Use debug like PhoneGuy says.

If you are using the US locale locate your VMPRO folder VM/WAVS/enu & rename prompt 43 to 43OLD & you will get rid of the Avaya prompt.

be warned. this prompt may come back on upgrading!!!

It will for sure so better record a greeting on the normal way.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

You would think they would have come up with a person who actually had a pleasant voice rather than a possessed one. I cringe every time I hear it. It sounds so bad.

Thanks very much for all your responses. I am using Saudi locale. In the VMPro folder, 43.wav file is playing the dialog "your call has been answered by avaya ip office". So i recorded a new wav file of the format 16 bit, 8Khz mono, renamed it to 43.wav and replaced the existing file. I did make a save and make alive in VMPro and when i checked it is still not working. Even i removed the 43.wav from the enu folder and still the device shouts out the same dialog. Can you help me.

remove (or rename) the same wav file from the EN folder becasue if the system is trying to play a wav file in the ENU folder (or your locales folder) that is no longer there it defaults back to the EN folder.
Was annoying from the beginning and still behaves that way.

Also you can run debug view to see if that is the file actually played or if there is another one that is actually used (with the same wording)

@Westi

i found it. it is 167.wav in the EN folder. When i removed it that dialog was not hearing. But when i made a customized version of that greeting, it doesn't work...i am sad :( ....any help

After reading this topic a few times i feel i need to step in.
Stop giving wrong advice by removing or rerecording system prompts!
Solves this problem at the core and record personal greetings like TouchToneTommy already suggested.
If this is a problem then record one general greeting and use the default startpoint and add it there for the leave action.

Hai everyone..at last found the solution . it is 167.wav in EN folder of VMPro. The file should be replaced by a customized one with name as 167.wav and properties as 16 bit PCM, mono 8 Khz. Now it is working fine...ty for all your help...

@tlpeter

dear, what i have said above is working fine for me. I am referring to Saudi Locale only. No idea about other locales. I always go for you guys help or does an R&D to solve these kind of issues

If it is solved for you then it is ok :)
But i would not do it this way because an upgrade will break it so this is not the best solution.
Recording a general message and the default start point is much better and easier to maintain.
