Getting rid of Cool Web Search

Hi,

I currently have a pc that has a verson of "cool web search" ive done every thing that i can do delete it. Ive run ad aware, it detects it but cant delete it. Also ive run other spyware programs like Spybot Search and Destroy" and Spy Sweeper and still no luck.

I would Really appreciate any help,

well i tried running cwshredder, the systems comes up as being clean but when i run IE coolweb is still there.

If you guys have any more ideas i would appreciate it.

just a little more info, its a win2k machine

What I usually do is boot the computer in Safe Mode. Before you do this, make sure you have the latest update file for Ad-aware. F8 is the option to boot-up in Safe Mode. Also, make sure you do this while your network cable is unplugged and select the option to boot up in Safe Mode w/o networking. Run Ad-aware and see if this removes it. Running the PC in safe mode boots the PC with the least amount of devices, files, etc... it needs to boot up successfully. See if this helps.
 
HijackThis v1.98.2 founds new registry entries for .dll files associated with CoolWebSearch. Run this in safe mode, and also clear out all files in your temporary directory.

Watch out, you may have to reinstall MS Office after removing CWS.
 
Please note: The latest CWS varients with the multiple random .dll's and random .exe's are not targeted or removed by the CWShredder application. They are beyond the scope of this program.
