Hi. Does anyone know of a way to get the announcement off of a TN750C announcement card and onto the network? I have Clan cards but I found out that I can't do a normal FTP. Anyone have a really creative way to move the wav files off?

Or if anyone knows how to pull greetings off of the Map 5 Intuity system let me know. My problem there is I am connected via modecode there.

Thanks in advanced

The TN750 packs do not support LAN backup. Only the newer VAL boards (TN2501) do. With the TN750 you can backup the announcements to flashcards only.

Bummer. That is what I suspected. Thanks Kevin. Anybody else have a good idea for a work around?

What about taking it off of a voice mail-attendent?

This is not very clean But.. using a tape recorder that pluges into the phone you can record the ann. then play it back into the mic. port on your pc....

Yeah,

At that point, I've come up with just having the person record it as a wav file directly onto the PC and converting it to a .vox file and cutting out the PBX altogether-
It is being used in a predictive dialing system and the vendor takes too long to implement changes but their system only accepts .vox files. Found a free converter on a telecom site and I'm giving it a try but I was hoping not to go through so many steps.

Why not record straight to the PC and leave the recorder out of it?

Take a mini connector and put it in the mic on your PC. cut the other end off and screw the individual leads onto the handset speaker of an old 2500 type set. Set up your pc to record .vox then pick up the 2500 handset and call your annc number. You should be able to knock them out pretty quickly.

Rcotten,

What recording app on the PC are you using? Something from Win2000? I was just recording them on MS win 98 Recording applet-it only does .wav files.

We have been playing with cool edit. There is a free 30 day eval of it out on the net. It does save in .vox and I using win2K.

Here's my trick (utilizing Unified Messenger) ...

Create VDN
Write vector to play each announcement with 2 seconds hearing silence between announcements.

Call your voice mail system, leave message for yourself, conference your VDN.

This recorded my announcements into Unified Messenger which has the ability to save as a .wav file. Once done, slice and dice the large .wav file into the individual announcements. There's a great opensource audio editing tool, search google for "free audio editing".
