Getting LDAP info

I have a script that is creating users then adding them to a group inside a OU. If a user already exsists in the domain how can a query AD given just the cn to get the ldap path so i can add the user to the group?

To get the AD "User Object"

set objSysinfo      = CreateObject("ADSystemInfo")
set objUser         = GetObject("LDAP://" & objSysinfo.UserName & "")

objUser.Property

I tried the first post to no avail i will try the second one shortly. The only issue i see so far is that it is still askin for ou and some dc info that might be missing but ill try some things. Let you know how it goes

I have a windows 2000 domain controller so that script wouldnt work thanks for your help
