Please help, I am trying to gain access to my registry files but when I go to start, run and type regedit I get a warning box stating “Regedit is not a valid Win32 application” I am using Xp pro on a stand alone unit.

Hi, When I try either, the screen (registry) comes up and then after a few seconds goes. any ideas?

That's a symptom of a virus. Inhibitng the use of regedit and other apps.

Have you tried it from Safe Mode?
