HEllo,

I have winServer2000 sp4 and I'm trying to RIS XP with SP2.

I am using the following PXE NIC
Intel® pro/100 VE getting with pro2Kxp.exe v11.
I get the "no NIC Driver" error message during text setup.
Then,I do the following instruction as solution:
I have modified ristndrd.sif
[Unattended]
OemPreinstall = yes
OemPnPDriversPath = "Drivers\ws03xp32"
DriverSigningPolicy = Ignore

I have copied the following into i386:
e100b325.inf
e100b325.sys
e100b325.din

I have also created $oem$\$1\Drivers\ws03xp32 in the same directory as i386
into this I have placed:
e100b325.cat
e100b325.din
e100b325.inf
e100b325.sys
e100bmsg.dll
NicCo.dll
NicInst.dll

Deleted all of the .PNF in the i386 directory

Then stopped and started the Boot Information Negotiation Layer

But still no joy.

If I copy all the content of the driver into i386 of the ris image, it works but after 1 mn of copying, the error stop 0* 0000027 appears and stop the client installation.

Help please

I had a similar issue and needed an updated driver, i followed the instructions in this link and it's worked since.

When you are the IT director, it's your job to make sure the IT works. If it does work they know already and if it doesn't, they don't want to hear your pathetic excuses.

Hi again,
I followed the instruction from the link mentionned and since my ris worked fine.
But now, i change my ris server into windows 2003 and since all my RIS (xp and 2000) with intel pro 100 ve are going wrong.
This following message appears with all:
The operating system image you selected does not contain the necessary drivers for your network adapter. Try selecting a different operating system image. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator. Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit.
I mentionned that i use pro2Kxp.exe v11.
help!!!

Did you move your images from the old RIS server or did you create new images on the 2k3 RIS server?

Are you using a basic image or RIPrep images?

I created new images on the 2k3 SP1 RIS Server and I am usind riprep images with xpSp2 and 2000 sp4.

Have you followed the instructions in the link when creating the new images?

yes, i have followed the instruction but still no joy!!!

Have a search on tecnet i'm sure there is a way to move your old working images from your old RIS server to your new RIS server i just can't find the article at the mo.

my old ris server is an IBM netfinity 3000 and the new one is an IBM think centre. Their nic card are not the same too.
Is it possible to move the old working image from the old to the new in this situation?

At what point are you getting the error message?

The type of network card in the RIS server shouldn't make any difference as long as it's working correctly.

just at the beginning, no file copying

Does it pickup the first RIS screen asking for a username?

Are you using a PXE network card or a boot disk?

yes,and it shows the blue screen with images list.
when I valid the image choosen the error message appears.
I am using pxe network card

I'd try moving your old working image over if you can find a KB article.

That error is almost always because the image doesn't have the correct driver, or as the intel article says the wrong driver version. I'd be tempted to follow the article again.
