I am running IE6 on windows XP and have found that when I have multiple IE6 windows open, if I use the Favourites toolbar in any of the windows it always brings the link up in the IE6 window that was first launched - very frustrating if trying to open multiple favorites in new windows.

Does anyone know how to get round this to ensure the Favorites toolbar acts always on the active window?

Thanks, in anticipation.

Hmm, I can't say I've had this exact problem but I am running Office 2003 and I have seen a lot of problems with programs and windows losing focus. For example, if I empty my deleted items in Outlook, Outlook loses focus and another open window will pop up on top of it. I wonder if this is related to your problem. By any chance are you using the Office 2003 beta?

I am not running Office 2003; unfortunately still on Office 97. I only see the loss of focus with IE6.

A guess:

IE, Tools, Internet Options, Advanced.

Uncheck "Move system caret with focus changes"

Thanks for the suggestion, bcastner. Unfortunately this option is already unchecked in my setup. I tried it with the option checked and also unchecked but it made no differnce to my symptom.
