Hello I’m a little new to access VBA, I’ve only done VBA in excel. I’m selecting an ID value out of a combo box. When I select the value in the combo box I would like it to get values into a couple of text boxes. So, in other words select the Employee ID from a combo box and then look up the First Name and Last name of employee from a table. Do I need to do a query? Or since they are in the same table just use code to look up the value? Any help would be appreciated.

Why not simply follow the combo wizard ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

I guess I haven't seen how I can get the wizard to do this. I've got the wizard to automatically pull the values out of the table and into the combo box list. I'll dig arount with the wizard to see if I can make it get the values into the text box.

I thought you wanted the combo acting as a search tool for the Employee form.
If the goal is only a lookup then take a look at the Column property of the ComboBox object.

Hope This Helps, PH.
