getting CDONTS to work on a new server

Hello all --

Had a bit of a catastrophe yesterday, and had to move all my web services over to a new machine.

Everything is up and working fine except for the fact that my ASP scripts are unable to create an ActiveX Object to send mail called CDONTS

I have installed the option from the NT Option Pack 4, and also installed Outlook2k on the machine to get a MAPI client on there for mail.

But when I execute the script, it says:
ActiveX component can't create object: 'CDONTS.NewMail'

Registered cdonts.dll using regsvr32 and still no dice. If anyone out there has installed this component before on their NT4 Server, and could share some learning, it would be very much appreciated.

I'm running SP6a.

HI!

Maybe installing the latest MDAC version (or atleast ver 2.5) can solve this.
Look in

http://www.microsoft.com/data

But first thing, you should reapply SP6a, as updated files might have been replaced by older ones when you reinstalled the option pack or something.
After SP6a you should also reapply the latest SRP for security.
