GetPict Showing Thumbnails

Hello,

I use a getpict command to select and image but for some reason it always displays the image files in list format and not thumbnail format. How can I get the thumbnail format?

The VFP 9 help file states:

You can preview images in Windows 2000 and later by clicking the View Menu icon and then Thumbnails. Visual FoxPro uses the Thumbnails view as the default setting to provide mini-previews of images.

So from this wouldn't you think that the thumbnails should be the default viewer but instead I get the list order.

That depends on how you have your default folder viewing options set. Nothing to do with VFP.

This is almost certainly a registry settings. But isn't it one of those things that we are supposed to let the user decide for themselves?

That's true, maybe we should just leave it alone. But I think some of our software users don't know about the thumbnail view feature and be nice to make it clear to them.

I'm sure there's an API call you could use to change it, but I agree with Mike.
Informing the users may be something you could do as a tooltip or one time message though.
