I have managed to get this to work only once. I used NDISWRAPPER and it worked for a few days and all the sudden stopped. I tried installing the driver and even went as far as installing the Ubuntu 7.10 OS over again to no success. Sometimes I can get my laptop to recognize it to the point that it picks up the signals but cannot connect to them but lately I haven't been able to get that. The laptop as far as the driver is recognizing that the card is inserted but doesn't give me a signal for the least anymore. I'm open for suggestions and tips. Would be greatly appreciated.

Security issues on router?

Check the output of the following commands (as root):

ifconfig

iwconfig

Also, lsmod will show if ndiswrapper is still being loaded.

This might sound crazy and I'm not sure how stable this fix is..but I managed to make the wifi card work! I went in and manually put in the ESSID and put the DHCP settings on "auto" after that..I started up firefox and walla! works..

Hi I am brand new to Ubuntu but already love it. I am trying to install a new pcmcia card and found out that I need to install an NDISwrapper but not sure how to do this. Do you have instructions on how you were able to do this?
Thanks for any advice or help you can give a newbie!
