Customer has a MICS 7.0 with T1/PRI. Is it possible for them to go off-hook and get dialtone without having to press 9? Currently they have intercom off-hook, then have to press 9 for outside line (but no 2nd D/T). Customer wants to go off-hook and have outside line D/T. Possible?
Thanks.

Make Prime Line Intercom
Turn on Hot line and make it external with dialed digit 9.

This way when they go off hook it will dial the 9 automaticly.

also with the 7.0 you can get 2nd Dial tone if you want it. I think it was located under Dialing Plan.

You should also be able to get 2nd dial tone if you are on 6.1MR

The cleanest solution is to change dialing mode to "Auto". That allows the user to dial on-hook (or off) without needing to press Intercom. You do have to dial 9, but the extra Intercom button press is eliminated. (Pressing Intercom is basically redundant on a PRI, since all calls are placed using the Intercom key.)

The trouble with using HotLine and "autodialing" 9 is that intercom calls become impossible; I don't know how you would dial anything else, like a feature code, either.

Thanks all, we got the customer to "tough it out" and press 9 for the outside line... :)
