I have my auto attendant with the menu option # going to the get mail action with a ? mark under specify (tried without too) and from the outside I have to enter my mailbox and password twice

Works fine from a shortcode internally

Any help would be appreciated.

Ver 3.2

I use "caller's mailbox" under the specific tab.

Only have to login once.

Tried that "Caller's Mailbox" then leaving it blank same result. Thanks for the suggestion

get mail
specific tab
tick mailbox
then choose $$KEY from drop down menu

(This uses the DTMF entered to direct to the mailbox desired)

That should do it, it works for me.

You do not always get what you pay for, but you never get what you do not pay for.

Thanks, Still doesn't fix it Tried $$KEY and $KEY
It's very strange It does not say Login Incorrect like it does when you put in the wrong password it just goes immediatly back to please enter your mailbox if do it again enter the same password and then logs you in and what really confuses me is that if you dial a short code to "Auto Attendant - Exernal" internally it works the 1st time.

Thanks for the suggestion aarenot

Try sending it to the short code for a short term solution.

To adress further for the long term.
have you done this before with success, or is this a go through it by the numbers scenario? I wonder if you have a working config for this function to compare this config with?
Have you rebooted?

You do not always get what you pay for, but you never get what you do not pay for.

Just to follow up:

The problem was caused by me trying to make my 5610 message hard key log directly into voicemail without having to enter the extension number and password (like the voicemail collect button does) - of course I did this by adding a collect ----> Get mail action to my mailbox
So this is the cause of external calls going to my collect action and prompting for my username and password twice -

Sorry about that, thats for your help aarenot-

Wish I could find a way to make them both work - still havn't yet. Doesnt make sense why the VExtension isnt enuff to make the message key work internally.

According to the help in VMPRO, and IPO, you can make the external CLID drive no log in prompt for the outside call log in. It should work for the inside one as well. Try calling tech support. I think it is called TRUSTED source, orsomething like that.
you are welcome by the way for any help I was.

You do not always get what you pay for, but you never get what you do not pay for.

This is enabled by adding V<Number> into the useres source numbers field.
This can also be usefull where a secretary needs to access a managers mailbox.

Number can be an internal extn number or an external CLI
more then one V<number> entry is permited. this can also be usefull where a secretary needs to access a managers mailbox.

I did call tech support, they said the supported method to make the hard coded message key or *17 log you directly in your voicemail without username and password was to add the collect-getmail option to each mailbox. He seemed stumped why the Vextensionnumber wouldnt make it do that, after reading the help file again it does say that Vextension number is only supported in IP office mode not intuity mode, but the trust seems to work fine with my cell phone to recognize me - btw VExtension is in there by default.

Try adding a Get Mail Action as callers mailbox to the Default Collect Start Point in VM Pro. That should stop the need for entering extn number and p/w.
