I am converting an old Delphi 7 application to a more modern language (VB.Net). There is a Treeview with an associated imagelist. What I want to do is extract the individual Treeview images so I can use them in my new application. Is this possible? I do not appear to have been given the original bmp files for these images.

Any ideas?

Hi,

you can extract the images from the Delphi exe file with a resource explorer tool (you'll find several on the net).

FYI

concerning the old D7 vs modern language thing :

Object pascal (this is what delphi uses) IS a modern language. Agreed D7 is showing it's age but it is still a robust development platform.
Delphi wins every battle vs .NET (slooooow) on the Win32 front.

:-D

Cheers Whosrdaddy. Looks like I have it sorted now.

I am not that familiar with Delphi, but have inherited a Delphi 7 application for which we only have partial source code. Our company is all .Net so that is the language of choice for the rewrite.

Having said that, the existing Windows application is very slick indeed, but it needs to be changed. I have a great fondness for Pascal as that is what I studied at Uni, however, I have bills to pay :)

I feel your pain!

[cheers]
