Is there anybody out there that can help me get the scanner configured on a Gestetner MFP to go to a network drive instead of being stored locally on the scanner? I've looked through all the documentation I have and either overlooked it or never found it.

You need to setup the ScanRouter software. I think the lite version comes with the Scan option on that printer. The Software requires that one workstation act as the server. It will be the only one in local contact with the scanner. Set the IP address of the server into the scanner and the IP address of the Scanner into the server (call ScanRouter Station). Then setup all the other ws that you want to scan to into the database of the ScanRouter Station. Install ScanRouter Client onto all the ws that will recieve the scans. The address book in the scanner will update from the server each time the Scanner is accessed.

Thanks Jomama46. I was afraid of that. We have the server downstairs with all our other servers. I was going to move it up and try a physical connection via parallel port but haven't had time yet. I guess I've got no other option. Thanks for the post.

Okay, I got it figured out. Thanks for your help Jomama46. Delivery service hadn't been enabled on the printer. Another question I have is that I seem to have to stay logged on to the delivery server to get the delivery service to run. Is there any way around this. I don't want to have to stay logged on to our delivery / print server all the time.
SR station has to stay in contact with the Scanner but the clients do not.
SR can be set to deliver immediately or periodically to clients in which case the client software has to be active. Or you can set SR to hold and store the scan until the client logs on and requests it.
I believe also that the suite comes with a browser so that a client can browse the server and pick and choose the scans they want to recieve.
Bottom line.. if you want to receive a scan the client sw has to be active, but the client doesnt have to be active any other time.
You can set the client to run at start up or as a service to be called up as necessary.
I have to wonder why all of this wasnt set up for you by the seller?

We got the MFP from an office supply store and they support the copier portion of it. Our General Headquarters said we didn't go through proper channels requesting it since it was a "networkable" machine and dropped all the setup back on us at the District level. And people wonder why the Government never seems to get anything done. Thanks for your help. Right now I've got the client software running on the server and delivering to a network drive. I'll just tell my boss that's the best we can do without installing on individual clients. Thanks Jomama46.
