We have a very old system using GENTRAN Director 5.3. It was installed nearly 10 years ago and the Integrator menu choices are greyed out. Mapper.exe is nowhere to be found.

I'm attempting to set up a new pass-through translation object enable generation of x12 docs that I'd like GENTRAN to manage the transmission of without translating them. I understand I may have to create a 1-1 translation object to do this.

I have two questions:

1) Is there a way to get GENTRAN to pass docs (files) without translating them?

2) If the answer to question 1 is no and I need the mapper, is this simply a matter of re-installing from the original media or is there another license to buy?

Have you looked into upgrading to Gentran server? There is more flexibility with the Break maps and pass thru mapping.

I've thought about abandoning Gentran. :)

I have the mapper and am looking into creating a TPL that just passes fields through. What was done in this situation before the new features came out?
