How do I generate a Class ID for scriptlets using Windows XP? I am not able to use the command-line command "uuidgen".

You get uuidgen.exe (or the GUI guidgen.exe) with VC++ 4.0 or newer.

You might also find it in recent Windows SDKs.

I don't think it was ever supplied with any version of the Windows OSs.

Hopefully if you are doing ASP you have Visual Studio 6, or at least 5 (aka 97). This is the most typical source for an ASP developer to use.

You can try here:
... but I don't think there is a clean way to get a small download that will have just the tool you want.

There was once a subset of the SDK Tools available, and it might have had uuidgen.exe in it, but I can't seem to find it now.
