generate .exe file for DOS

How can I use Visual C++ to generate an executable file (.exe) that can be run under DOS? What kind of project I need to open?

(The machine is booted in DOS. It is not the MS-DOS Prompt in Window.)

You need an 'old' version of VC++. I don't remember the last version that supported 16 bit DOS applications but versions 5 and 6 certainly did not support it.
