hello
i want to ask something general.
if i have two sites and ant to cOnnect them using VPN.
In the main bulding i have a T3 line for internet connection.
if i connect them through VPN what will be the data rate(thrughput) between this sites?

regards
Thanasis

The first question is "What type of link is at the other site?"

Throughput will always be less than the slowest link.

OK,thanks

if i have 4 buildings all of them they have T1 connection
to the internet. T1 lines will serve both internet and site to site connections?

regards

dedicatied service or shared bandwidth?

Depends what you pay for at each site, 2,4,8 12 32 mb/s.

Then you've got to take into account any firewall activity i.e. packet filtering, inspection.

Then you have to consider load on the servers.

If you think that just because you've got an 8 mb dedicated line that you're actually going to get ANY where near an 8mb/s throughput you've been talking to too meaning salesmen!

Give your ISP a call - tech desk not sales - and they'll tell you.
