Is anyone aware of software licensing on just a regular old PBX like an SL100? I have never heard of anything like it on a PBX, but a guy that is doing a survey for pricing to go IP here on our site is adamant that there is software licensing on this old switch and he can get cost savings through Avaya if we provide it.... If anyone has a clue on this, I would appreciate any help....

Thank you

Nortel has used the Keycode system for a long time. You mentioned SL100, that is a C.O. type switch. Is that what you have or just an old SL-1. And yes, he is correct, once you buy the licenses you never have to buy them again. They can be transferred to a new release. With that being said, there is a good chance you can pull the keycodes off the KRS site with the S/N. Kinda depends on how old it really is. Do you know what release it is on?

I do have an SL100. It was installed in 1987 and software release is MSL10BM. It hasn't been updated in a very long time... What Serial Number are you talking about and where would I get it from??Thank you for the response...

I don't know the SL100, sorry. I thought you had an old SL-1 or Meridian 1. I would still think the licenses you have already bought could be transferred to a new release.

I appreciate it. I never heard about it, but I am sure since they exist on other old switches, that they also do on this one. Thank you again for your help...

I belive he want what software version your switch is running.
After you login it will be displayed on the line above
the ">" prompt. Example below:
Date/Time of last Upgrade
Software running (SD09)

2011/07/14 22:05 <<<<< XXXXXX/XXXXXX--SD000009 >>>>> 00/00/0000

I gave him the software version which is MSL10BM. I gave him the site ID, but he keeps insisting on software licenses...

The only other item I can think of is that
on the load tape there is a CLLI name for
your site. This may be what he is looking
for. Hope this helps.

I never looked there. I will check that. Thank you.. It is the same as the nortelid that I gave him. I appreciate the help...

Go into the SOC level of the programming and print:

select all brief

and then it will print out the licenses.

Hope this helps
