ES 9.5 SQL Server 2000 sp4.

If we go to GL\Entries\General Journal, this screen takes 9-15 minutes just to open. This is with limited display options with the dates restricted to 08/01/08 thru 08/31/08 and unprocessed transactions only.

This has been going on a while and this is our first attempt to address this issue.

Has anyone seen this before and if so what did you do to increase the performance?

These are known bugs in 9.5. Anytime you run any sort of GL report or process it takes forever to open. In the meantime your other users will notice a freeze or pauses when they are trying to do their own work in Macola.

I had to generate my own Aging Analysis report through access, since the one in Macola is useless due to the speed issue.

What's funny is they are doing a 'webinar' that is going to address the speed issues and what WE can do to make it faster.

They need to fix their GL problem already.

We actually fixed this by adding indexes to the tables that are used to open this screen. I am looking forward to this webinar.

Is it possible that the check box to show "processed" was checked at one time? Then when the user goes back into the GL\Entries\General Journal screen it is loading ALL transaction in the general ledger (gbkmut). If you uncheck the box to show "processed", press the "refresh" button, close and then go back in see if that speeds up the screen load time.

ibeg,

Yes we looked at that, but good thinking.
