Hey all...

Just wanted to put a post out there, to gather some feedback on any folks that have recently upgraded to 6.1.5 and if there's anything to watch out for?

I have my first 6.1 upgrade coming up soon and just curious if any nuances going from 6.0.xx to 6.1.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

I mostly like the new NTP-Client with auto DST. No more manually adjusting time if you don't have VMPro Server or similar.

Be sure to have the needed upgrade license if the system is "older" than 90 days after your first call.

Thanks for feedback guys. System is just over the 90 day period, so we ordered the upgrade license for them last week. I will check out that new NTP feature, it will work great for this uustomer actually.

It is actually a 100 days.
Did you try the upgrade?
You will see a 255 for the "licensed" field when it is OK.
When it is not then you will see a 3 for 6.1.

Thanks TL, I think they're on 105-106 days since install. Good to know though that the grace period is 100 days.

6.1 has fixed my 65k voice mail issues. That alone makes me like it. 6.0 from that issue to the early "config erase on a reboot" issue has left a sour 6.0 taste in my mouth.

It wasn't 6.0 that caused the card default thing it just made it worse, 6.1 still does it but they have since changed SD card suppliers which also tells a story :)

I see!! Well at the very least it now has me in the habit of formatting and recreating my SD cards when they come in. :)

The 6.1 upgrade went well. It actually corrected a couple of strange issues to do with call park and mobile twinning handover.

True also, the format/recreate option does seem to help quite a bit if you have an unhappy SD card. Not in all scenarios, but its worth trying before going the RMA route to replace hardware.

On R7 when you turn on mobilty features it errors that you can't have ** shortcodes, but the ** shortcode is a default one :)

This error is there as long as mobile call control excist my darlin :)
That shortcode is only for scandinavia so it can be deleted without any issues.

Additional short codes of the form *DSSN, *SDN, *SKN, these are used by the IP Office system for internal functions and
should not be removed or altered. Short codes *#N and **N may also visible, these are used for ISDN functions in
Scandinavian locales.

Really, never even noticed before, either that or my memory is getting really bad :)

Not enough sleep lately with the little one?

I get plenty, he's been sleeping right through the night since he was 2 months old :)

(The first part of that sentence is relevant either way you take it)

Even in scandinavia it´s ok to delete them, since they're not used there anymore.
