general Cat5e questions 1

ok, if i wire my house with cat5e, will i still be able to use my 10/100 NIC's and my 10/100 hub just like it was cat5?

Yes.. CAT5 is upwardly compatible with CAT5E. We only CAT5E cross connects between all out switches and routers to avoid pulling it all out later.

The manufacturer's part number, of course, if you happen to have a catalog. Some stencil the word, "PATCH CABLE" along with the usual Cat 5(e) stuff. Some do not indicate it on the sheath at all.
