General Administrative Tasks Option 11c 1

Grettings All.

I have recently(within the last year) become the proud administrator of a Nortel Option 11c. We just recently had our maintenance provider perform an upgrade to succession 4.5.

Needless to say i've been charging ahead at full steam, learning as much as i can from the administrative guide books, but there are a few things i just can't wrap my brain around.

1. How do i build an extension from Scratch?
2. how do i setup a hunt group

the previous administrators weren't very helpful either, so i'm going through and removing about 50 extensions that haven't been used in 10+ years.
i've figured out how to "out" a tn. but there are some i want to convert from digital to analog, and i'm not sure how, other than deleting and starting from scratch.

Well i'm no expert but from what I remember you have to out any digital tn's in load 20. You can't change a digital to an analog without outting it because you will have to change from a digital TN to a anolog TN

For the Hunting groups, make sure you have the CLS of HTA and have your hunt set to what phone you want the first phone to hunt to, and then set the hunt for the second phone in the hunt group and so on.

to put a new digital or anolog into the system will be done in load 20.
req:new
type: either digital or anolog, eg, 2616, or 500 for analog
TN: your TN

and then go through the prompts.

so, if i get this right. under ld 20 it would look something like this.

item hunt ####(the extension i'm hunting to)

if this is correct, then on the last one do i have it hunt to
VM?

You can only go three deep by using HUNT on the TNB.

You may want to setup a hunt group in LD 18. (Build the PLDN in LD 57).

What are you trying to accomplish with your hunting?

You can not convert Digital to Analog with out rebuilding them (However, this may be possible with 5.0?)

An extension is a DNB in the Nortel. You don't build extensions, you build Sets (TNBs).

The main focus, is that i want

button 0 5701
button 1 77
button 2 (analog line)5702


people call in 77, when that RNA, it rolls to 5702,then to 5701
This way, if the person steps away from their desk, they can take a cordless analog with them. Then if the Cordless is busy, the call rolls to 5702, and then to vm so that we get a Message waiting indicator.

77 exists on 6 different sets... so this is just one of many places where it is ringing.

The person doesn't have a person DN? They just cover the three shared department lines?
