Hello, I just bought a PNY GeForce 4 Ti 4600 video card and I have XP Pro installed, when I play games or i am just using the computer I will get a blue screen saying the computer locked up when it was dumping its memory and the nv4_disp.dll was the cause of the issue, other times I will just be using the computer and all the sudden it will freeze and the motherboard beeps and I have to reboot. The odd thing is 2k does not do any of these, it runs great, but games run pretty bad as 2k isnt built for them. So is there a possible solution? I had a VisionTek GeForce 2 Ti before this and it did the same thing so its not that card.

THanks for your help :D
Nick

Welcome to the desperate world of VIA users! There's a major issue with the VIA + Win XP + Ge Force cards, I am surprised you are unnoticed. Anyway, update the VIA 4 in 1 drivers (1437b) solve my problem, but it does not work for everybody. Look in the VIA forums ( under "Windows chat and help"

I personally have found that Windows XP is the source of many peoples' sorrows. Trust me when I say that there are NO games that run on XP, that will not run on Windows 2000 Professional. My advice to you, would be to load up 2000 Professional (if you still have access to it). Being the fact that XP is extremely far from the end of its service packs, using Win 2000 Pro is a much better choice.
