Geforce FX5900 Ultra issue!!

OK, I have just installed my new graphics card and ALL the relevant software/drivers etc...

I decided to do some work on my PC without sound (speakers turned off), I noticed that when I drag a window or use the scroll bar, I get a sound coming from my GFX card!! Sounds like a clicking (best described like hearing loads of crickets???) Weird or what!!? So I decided to load a couple of games (i.e. Black Hawk down, MOH etc..) with still the sound turned off, the sound goeas crazy!!! when non-static animations start...

I have plenty of experience with PCs so no daft ideas please I've gone thru the usual checklists etc..

I can only think there is a problem with my GFX card, I re-installed my old card and it's fine, I then uninstalled my old card and re-installed my new one and the problems back!!

I've also notices a matching screen flicker...... albeit very unoticable during normal windows operations, but during game play it really does start to flicker. Again I've checked all my setting changed refresh rates etc...

Please help!!? ;o(

My machine spec:
AMD Athlon 2600+
Gigabyte KT400 MB
1gig DDR 333 mem
2x120 gig HDs
Soundblaster audigy 2 PCI OEM
Logitech MX700 cordless mouse
and the usual bits...

I'm running XP Pro plus all the latest hotpacks etc...

Clicking sounds from mouse movements is not all uncommon, can occur on a wide range of hardware, I recently saw it on an IBM Aptiva K6-2 350MHz machine... I have no idea what causes it.

For the flicker, if you can, try using the dvi port on the card with the dvi->vga adapter. I can't find the link, but I was reading about troubles both nVidia and ATI cards have at high clock speeds, interference from something (maybe PSU, nVidia cannot recreate the problems) is causing flickering or other screen anomolies. Users with this problem say using the dvi port usually solves the problems. And some users say underclocking the cards also makes the problem go away.

I failed to mention that I usually use the DVI port, but I did swap to te usual VGA port too, to see if this was the case.

It's not just the mouse causing the (obscure sound from my GFX card), when in a game and I'm lookng at some intense GFX effects i.e. Vietcong (looking over to a river) the sounds intensifies. but then if I turn away and look at (say) a rock and a bush.. the sound dies down. It seemto be a rendering issue or something like.

I ALL my years of computing (not that I'm going to mention how long!!) ;o) I have never seen anything like it, Gainward don't seem interested as i've contacted them several times now....... so I'm sending it back and gong back to MSI!!!
