Okay here's the problem, I had my GeForce video card running on Windows ME fine, then I decided to upgrade to Windows XP Professional and it won't pass the logo test. I've tried all types of different drivers and if I try to install it anyway it stuffs up and doesn't work. Could it be solved by updating Windows XP or something?

Please Help

thanks in advance.

This should just install fine with the nvidia drivers .

A common FAQ:
After installing my NVIDIA-based graphics card, every time Windows loads, I get an error stating that my graphics card is not installed properly. How can I fix this?

Check in your motherboard's BIOS for the option "Assign IRQ to VGA" and make sure it is enabled...

it may not be a video problem. did you wipe the mbr before upgrading? xp usually wont load past the logo screen with a previous os mbr on the hdd. just formatting wont do it.

SYAR2003 - Nup, I've tried the official nvidia drivers and it is enabled.

bigbrownbuku - Well I don't know how to wipe the mbr, I'm a software type of guy, and would wiping hte mbr involve formatting my harddrive?

SYAR2003 - But I'm using winXP and they have the options, Win ME/2000 and WinXP.

And when I press install anyway it just stops at 18% and I have to Ctrl+Alt+Del to get out out of it and it doesn't work.

Wow, that seems really good, except it won't let me run the .exe. Below is a screenshot of what comes up, thanks for your time and please help as it's almost done I'm thinking, just need to find out how to run this .exe as it's going as weird.

Mass-downloaders - Please do not use them. You will likely end up with a corrupt download.

Gee thanks again, I'll try that out straight away when I get to my mums because that's where the problem is and I'm at my dads now. Thanks again and I'll reply soon from there.

Wow, thanks alot mate. It works perfectly well now and thanks for walking me through it, you're a champ.

Thanks again.

Thats pretty good prince that you got it solved!
So there were some leftover driver files from the
oldwin days.

Thanx
SYAR
