I'm running a Geforce4 Mx440 8x VIVO on a AMD XP1600+ with 768 Mb of sdram, and when i'm running in windows Xp it boots okay but when i'm on the desktop " bang! " My monitor goes in stanby mode. I tied it in a win2k pro environment and no problems... Can somebody help ? Cost me a lot for noting if it's not Xp compatible....

load up in VGA mode with the F8 option at boot.
if it loads uninstall the video drivers and use the native xp drivers.
call tech support on the card.

I tried to... but running in vga mode is not working either...

Even if i try that, i'll hve to reboot in safe mode or vga mode all the time, cause it's not working, the always way to mak it work is to put the resolution to 800x600 in 8bit mode, it's not really what i've expected from a GeForce 4 .... I tried to download the latest drivers, and all the drivers did the same thing...

Fimware upgrade on the card
Bios flash the motherboard
The GF4 440MX did have issues with certain motherboards usually resolved with a bios flash.
We have swopped brands for customers in extreme circumstances as a last resort.
Martin Replying helps further our knowledge, without comment leaves us wondering.

Did you try the NVidia Drivers and the card company drivers ? Both dont work ?
