I have 2 backstack 470-PWRT switch stacked that is give some problem with a GBIC port. When installed it does not work.I went into system configuration and it says the port is not unsupported.I then upadate the firmware of the switchs to the latest firmware, but the problem still happens.

Is the GBIC a nortel part? If so, sounds like an RMA is necessary.

Take a look at the part number and make sure it matches the list of supported GBICs in the install guide. Like most vendors Nortel forces us to buy their GBICs, although I think any of the non-CWDM Nortel GBICs should work in the 470s.
