As soon as I put an SFP in my switch the port auto shuts with the message, this is literally just plugging it into the switch, its not even connected.

d19h: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface GigabitEthernet0/2, changed state to down
4d19h: %GBIC_SECURITY_CRYPT-4-VN_DATA_CRC_ERROR: GBIC in port 65538 has bad crc
4d19h: %PM-4-ERR_DISABLE: gbic-invalid error detected on Gi0/2, putting Gi0/2 in
err-disable state

Is this because the GBIC are not supported.

Thanks North323,
saw this post but the IOS is .35 so that should work. Have tried four different SFP's all cisco ones.

Have even wiped the current config and it did the same again.

I have seen this when the gbic is not installed correctly
Make sure you feel it snap in.

I have also seen this when the GBIC was not compatible with the Switch. I had the same issues with mine. I then researched on the Cisco website found it was the wrong GBIC. Good luck and hope this helps
