Gaussian Blur 1

In Illustrator CS5, when I draw an ellipse and give it a Gaussian blur, the color fades outside the area of the ellipse. How do I keep the blur inside?

There may be a few ways to do this but I might make a copy of the shape without the blur, position it on top, select both stacked shapes, and then apply a mask (Object menu->Clipping mask->Make).
