I have just gotten a BCM450 and install a GATM8 card. The card is not in slot 1, and configured as a CTM8/GATM8.The cars is then divided into two CTM4's, however it stuck at enabling for the longest time.

Do I need to connect the trunks to the card before it enables?

450 ver 5.0

Make sure its in the correct slot. slot 1 is on bottom, slot 4 is on top. also make sure the dip switch settings are all on.

Yes, the Card is in Slot 1 and all Dip Switch settings are on.

Assuming that you changed slot 1 to be a CTM8 instead of the DSM32 that it comes as, you should connect the trunks and reboot the system. This will allow the system to "tune" those trunks.

Outside of that, try another module.

Telco,

I did what you suggested, however I am still having a problem.

Have you tried connecting the Trunks,
Usually the trunks need to be connected before the card sees them as enabled.
Rel5 system now show it as enabled even if the trunks are not connected.

snowman,

I have connected the trunks, but no look. The status light on the card flashes between green and amber.

The card is divides into 2 ctm4s as you have said
Have you enabled both of these sub divisions???

Also have you actually configured the card correctly.

Have you allocated Trunks to the card same Procedure as a PRI or BRI card.
The right side of the screen should tell you the Trunks you have allocated.
If it says CFG then you haven't configured the card.

Configure the card first then install it.

If u don't have a solid green led on the card, then the card isn't fully up. U may have a config issue or a h/w issue.

There were a few of these boxes that came out of the factory with the ribbon cables that connect on the backside of the board that the modules plug into that were loose or not connected at all. You might want to have a look at that. Just remove the top cover and you'll be able to see them. Make sure they're securely connected.
