I am working on a Gateway Select 1100 for a friend of mine (against my better judgement). The wires have become detached from the power button and LED light. SOldering may or may not work on this piece. If it does not work, any ideas where a replacement part can be found?? I am having the WORST time trying to locate one and i feel like i am running out of options. I tried going to another gateway model at work that is being tossed and taking the part from there, but wires are not long enough. Any advice is warmly welcomed, especially to this newcomer to your forums! Thanks so much!

Use the "work" parts and splice in longer wires. These particular switches are simple "momentary contact" switches, and polarity doesn't matter.

Thank you so much!! That was what i was thinking, but its nice to know that i am not crazy for wanting to combine parts.
