I have a Gateway computer in a Flex ATX case that I'm am having trouble getting a video card for. It has a standard PCI slot but the case is only 4 inches tall. The expansion card adapter slot can only handle a Video card with a 3 inch tall mounting bracket. Any suggestion would help.

Dakota is right. The style of the card is called Low Profile.

has a "modem and low profile" (?) section on their website too.

I scavanged one of those gateway motherboards to put in one of my three IBM netvista low profile flex-atx cases.
Talk about a tight fit!

I've used both a Gainward GeForce4mx440 and Jaton Geforce2's in those little flex cases before.

Do yourself some research though. Neither of mine came with the "low profile" bracket. While Gainward sent me one for free, Jaton said go buy one on our "sister" website :p

Not much point in putting a super fast card in there either.
Besides power requirements and heat concerns using a newer & hotter card in a flexATX case, the PCI slot and P3 combo will show it's weakness while you make games like Neverwinter Nights and SWG perfectly playable, but not at the highest resolutions without getting a little jumpy.

Still a better card than that integrated POS, and these little PC's just dissapear when placed in my entertainment center, thanks to the TV-out on the video card (my version of a modded xbox)

On another thought, I think that I could never fully disable the integrated graphics card in the gateway's BIOS, so the PC was dual head capable when setup.

Thanks for all responses. I had alot of trouble finding one and even Gateway said any card would work (boy are they clueless)I finally was able to get a replacement motherboard for $65.00. It was cheaper than the card believe it or not. I will never buy or recomend a Gateway CPU to anyone. (They Suck)

Hey, if it wasn't for companys like Gateway, us repair people would go out of business!! <grin>
