Hello,

It has been a while since I've had to do any EMC-related tasks, so my memory is a bit foggy.

Is it "normal" for the gatekeepers to be visible in a Windows host's storage manager? I recently had a database admin asking me this, he was poking around server manager on a 2008 server and could see the gatekeepers, along with the LUNs masked to that particular host.

Under Storage > Disk Management I see all the disks which are presented to the server. Not really sure where he's looking. Got a screenshot?

Same place you mention... I guess if they're presented to the box they'll appear, makes sense - but didn't expect them to be presented to the server.

My understanding of EMC theory has atrophied over the years from lack of use!

Yep, the disks show up there. Windows needs to be able to partition and format them.
