My customer has a gate opening feature on his Panasonic phone system. With the talk path established through the intercom by dialing 9 the gate will open. There is however a 30 second delay. The customer does not want the delay. Has anyone encountered and solved this mystery?

What interface does he have on the gate. It is not a Panasonic unit if dialing 9. Is it a sip unit?

The following is from an email from my customer.

I have a crown jewel gate opener that interrupes the dial tone when the system is activated. Once the call is picked up you can not just dial 9 to open the gate you must wait 30 sec to get the touch tone to open the gate. There is no touch tone on any ext until 30 sec. Expires. Lookin forward to the help.

You did not say what system it is on. if it is on a kxtda 824 check if TRS Check after Answering prog[966] is not set, the default time it checks for is 15 seconds, but it can be changed to 30. by default it is not on, but is the only thing I can see causing you this problem on the system side

Paul it was not a 824 it is a kxta624. Pls clear up that. I was hoping it was but I am on site and very disappointed...lol tks for the help

I don't see anything on the ta624 to cause that, loop a extension to a co port. ring the extension and answer on another phone and dial some digits and see what happens. also make sure the line dial type for that port is dtmf and not call block
