Gantt View: Opens to Random Date in April 2007

Whenever I open my project, the Gantt View opens and the right-hand side monthly view displays April 2007. Is there any way to have it open to the current month/date, so I do not always have to scroll over? Thank you.

Try this:

File | Print
In the lower left corner, choose a start date
Click on Preview
Exit from the Preview
Save the file
Exit from Project

Next time, it might open at that date. It worked in a simple test I tried. (Frankly, if this is the most serious issue you have to deal with in MS Prj then you were born under the luckiest of stars!)

I just tried your suggestion, but unforunately, my project still opens to April 2007. Thanks for trying to help, though. Do you have any other ideas?

Open a project
Click on a task
Click on the "Go To Selected Task" button. The Gantt chart will be repositioned to show the entry for that task.

Yes, I am aware of this button. I just find it strange that my project always opens to April 2007. I even changed the start date of the project to July 1. It is bizarre.

Mine opens to 2003!!!

So I guess you have never been able to "fix" it either? I wonder if it is our installation or the project file. I am looking into contacting Microsoft to find out an answer. It is just so annoying.
