Good Morning to you all, been watching this forum for a while and its been very helpful, I need help this time. We have several IP office 500 rls 11.1 all using gamma sips, all setup identical, same firewalls, same port forward, but a couple of newer sites we have done we are getting alot of 'Waiting for Lines' some numbers we cannot dial on them ever, but can on older ones we setup. Gamma have checked the trunks all working fine, and if we use a onsite 3cx to test they work. Any suggestions? One number we use for testing Gamma say they are not getting a response from the IP office and sent this imag

Not the cheapest. They're OK. We have a few hundred trunks with them that we've never looked at since setting them up, generally very solid, however when you find these little issues, they can be a real pig to fix.

It is not setup for IP Office in the Gamma POrtal. If it was, you wouldn't be getting these #XXXXXX# in your SIP packets.

We had the same thing. It was only on the sites not set to IP Office on the portal. Once we changed it, all went away.

You also mention you are using a Draytek. In our experience of Gamma and IP Office, this is a really bad combo. Lots have tried and failed to get this to stay solid. Only ever had a couple of sites keep the Draytek. We actually advise customer to change it before we start if they already have one. Got fed up of issues that were nothing we could fix. (we don't put in the firewalls).

Also, SIP ALG is not the devil, if used properly and on a firewall that can do it properly (certainly not Draytek). SIP ALG is a lot less trouble that STUN servers you can't control or rely on. 90% + of our IPO/Gamma SIP installs run on SIP ALG and dont often miss a heartbeat.

I'm fairly sure that they keep SIP ALG turned on, on their assured/converged circuits when used with SIP trunks Jamie, so it would seem they agree with you on that one.

Yes they do. They actually don't have any STUN servers, so don't even support the use of STUN!

They will turn it off you ask then to. But as it works really well, why bother?
