I have recently acquired a couple of 350T's from a factory we purchased. However, I can't gain access to them to configure the things :(. Does anyone know if it is possible to perform a factory reset by means of jumper, internal switch, etc? Also, is it possible for the RS232 port to be disabled or configured? The standard (9600, 8, n, 1) settings don't work, therefore I'm considering running through the permutations... but if it can't be configured then I won't bother trying!

Thanks in advance,

Pete Appleton

I am looking for this information as well. I tried going through the different port speeds and was unsuccessful at gaining access.

I used a cross-over serial cable rather than a straight-thru (the manual had suggested using a straight-thru cable). I followed the advice of a previous post and pressed ctrl + c and ctrl + y a few times to get the console up.

Nortel uses a null modem adapter on their console cable.Default port speed is 9600,8,n,1.
There is a reset you can use,BUT,you must have console access.
To recover the password: Power off the 350,power on,witin 15 seconds type(NetIcs<cr>).Note the upper/lower case spelling. This will allow access to the security menu.

Good luck

I used a straight through DB9-DB9 with no problems (tested pins with meter). I think the revision of the switch makes a difference in the straight/crossed issue.
Password reset was v. useful cheers

Hi guys,

the poster got it wrong, its actually "NetICs" and not "NetIcs" (caps)

Cheers,
