I have a weird problem...aren't all problems "weird"? Anyhow...

I have had a bunch of reports from users that claim that they are talking on a call for 7-10 min then all of a sudden there is static on the call and they can't hear the customer. After they call them back the customer says they never heard the static. If I go into our call recording software and listen to the entire call I hear ZERO static. It is clear as a bell.

After some research I have found out that 99% of these complaints all come from the same g700. And 80% of them from the same board. Is it as simple as replacing a bad board? If so why didn't my call recording software pick it up?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I also just remembered that G700 is the same one where I have to constantly reset a DS1 board. Could my G700 be going bad?

Are the users using digital phones ? Is the G700 grounded ? It depends how the call enters your system and were the recording takes places if you will hear something on the recording or not.

They are all using digital phones. I am 90% sure the system is grounded. I will have to double check. Would grounding explain why we hear static only sometimes and why a DS! card would go out?

What is the span timing? I know how to tel-net into the g700. How would I check this? What should it be set at?

Once logged in.... Show sync timing....set sync source (primary)

Well my primary sync source is my MM710 in V1. That has been acting funny as of late. Going in and out of service. Can I change the sync source to a different MM710 in a different G700? Or does it need to be in the same one?

Timeing must be set for each G700 that has a T1/PRI
