I am operating with a Avaya S8710 cluster in my data center with G650 cabinets in the data center. Remote sites have G700 gateways with S8300 LSP's. I have encountered a necessity at one of the G700 sites to move a Overhead paging unit over from a G3R that was in place previously.
The paging unit is a Valcom 2000A. The wiring goes from a MM711 analog port configured as a loop start CO trunk to a Lucent 909 adapter, from the 909 adapter it connects to the tip and ring through the RJ11 port on the Valcom 2000A. The issue I am having is with the Loop start trunk. I can dial the TAC and get to a dialtone, or if I set the trunk to Cut-Through it goes to silence. The trunk signaling seems to work as you can trace the TAC and see it going active however voice communication is not going out over the Paging system.
Has anyone configured a G700 using an MM711 for overhead paging? If so can you send me how your trunk group is configured so I can do a stare and compare?
My config is as follows:
TRUNK GROUP
Group Number: 1000 Group Type: co CDR Reports: y
Group Name: Paging Site COR: 10 TN: 1 TAC: *77
