I am trying to backup mgp-config with
'copy mgp-config' command to a external tftp server. iam
getting 'tftp error occured'.

what should be the filename in copy command? and what should be settings of tftp server?

sounds like you do nto have tftp enabled on the 8300.

Even if i am backing up mgp-config from G700 CLI.. still
need to enable tftp on 8300?

I've tried using the cp (copy) command from the shell and it didn't work before. I don't think Avaya allow the command with the dadmin login. You could try the sudo command which theoretically gives you root access but my linux/unix knowledge isn't brillant. Are you trying the FTP backup from the web interface?
