I've come across a bunch of incorrect configs on my G450.. things such as spanning tree being enabled.. my 10/5 and 10/6 ports being set incorrectly.. multiple vlans. Are these things configurable remotely or should it all be done via the console? The site is in Asia and I have no tech staff there.

As long as you can still get connectivity to the unit in the VLan`s that are active on your network(so you are not changing IP address about that will affect this) , all can be configured remotely

APSS (SME)
ACSS (SME)
ACIS (UC)

The issue is the original installer of this looks like he did a mess of a job. I see my 10/5 and 10/6 set to 100/negotiate.. spanning tree is enabled... I see 2 vlan's configured.

If you do make a change and get kicked out or lose control of the box, just have someone on site reboot it. As long as changes haven't been saved you will be ok. It's not the nicest solution, but it will work as long as you can communicate with someone exactly what to reboot.

Correct Crash! Just don't copy run start or nvram init. A reboot will restore previous config prior to the changes.

Would disabling spanning tree and changing the speed/duplex settings of 10/5 and 6 require someone onsite?
